Formulate Review: Personalized Shampoo & Conditioner for Natural Hair {Sponsored Post}

{{This post is sponsored by Formulate, but all opinions are my own.}}

About the Company:

 Formulate has built a platform that surveys what your hair needs are and what you want for your hair. Their team of chemists custom-formulate your shampoo and conditioner using research-backed ingredients. Finally - where things get really interesting – through customers’ feedback, Formulate is able to continue to evolve a customer’s personal set of products until they’re exactly what the customer wants.

First Impressions:

I will be honest I am always a little hesitant to try new products. I have kinky hair and I feel like I’ve found a pretty good regimen already, so I did not want to disrupt what works. I can honestly say that I made the right decision to try this product.

You have to create a profile on the Formulate website. They ask specific questions about your hair type, hair journey, hair struggles, and hair goals. They even get as detailed as to let you select the scent of your products. I have thick hair that can be oily at the roots but dry at the ends, BUT the kicker is although the roots of my hair are oily my scalp can be very dry and flaky. Because of this it has been difficult to find the right product product for me.

Now that I have my personalized products…were they any good?

I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by the Formulate products. I washed and conditioned and was able to wear my twist out for close to 10 days. Typically I am a 2-3 day kind of girl. But my curls stayed in tact. My hair had visibly more body and shine to it! My dandruff issue was not completely combated with this first set, but the best part about this company is that they allow you to tailor your profile until you find the perfect match for your hair needs.

I do recommend these products for my naturalistas. Our hair is not a one size fits all and our hair products should not be either.
