Whew! So much goes into planning a wedding, ease the guest experience with a wedding website. This will be a fun way for you and your future spouse to determine the kind of experience you want guests to have! This post will cover some essential information to include on your wedding website.


1. The Basics
The who, what when, and where! While this information will still be listed on your invitations, your wedding website will serve as a reference to reinforce this information and remind your guests of any details they may have forgotten or overlooked.
Include:

  • The wedding date and time
  • Bride and groom’s name
  • The wedding venue
  • The reception venue
  • RSVP cutoff date

Once the essentials have been covered, use your wedding website to elaborate each one in more detail. These items may seem obvious, but in the excitement of planning the perfect day it can be easy to overlook small details. Spend some time elaborating on the venue location to help give guests a clear idea of where they will be going. This is especially helpful for guests who are traveling and not familiar with the area.

2. Transportation and Places to Stay
If you've arranged hotel blocks or wedding day transportation, share these details on your wedding website. Your out-of-town guests will appreciate it if you've reserved room blocks at a nearby hotel or arranged for scheduled car services to and from the ceremony and reception venue, so include all the info they need on your website.


For my wedding there were so many hotels near by that I listed the highest rated ones for guests to choose from.

3. Your Love Story
This union of love is being celebrated by the people you and your soon to be wife/husband love. In addition to sharing logistical wedding details and answering FAQs on your website, use the website as an opportunity to connect with your guests. Share your love story and give guests more insight into this beautiful journey you have shared with your future spouse.


I took a stab at writing our story, felt overwhelmed and then asked my fiancé to write our story lol. The wedding website should be something you and your future spouse do together. What this taught me is that there is no wrong way to share a story of true love and that working as a team removes the overthinking or stress that planning such a major event can bring. Not only is it a big event, but during this event your guests will see a very sacred and vulnerable part of your life. This story is an introduction to your wedding day.

Tracking your guest numbers manually can be a time-consuming process so don’t forget to include an RSVP section on your wedding website! Finalizing your guest list is going to be the first step here, so make sure you have this clarified before moving forward with your wedding website.
Most wedding websites will offer an RSVP tool so that guests can confirm their attendance in just a few easy clicks. Make sure your RSVP section is readily accessible, and that your RSVP date has been stated clearly. Your RSVP section is where you can also ask questions regarding plus ones or dietary requirements. You can save yourself a whole lot of hassle later down the track by asking for these details upfront!

5. Dress Code Details
It's perfectly fine to mention the preferred attire in your formal invitation, but there's limited room to elaborate. If you want to get specific, use your wedding website to provide more guidance for your desired dress code or theme.

6. Registry Details
With most wedding website platforms, you can easily sync your wedding registry to your website. Your guests will have no trouble finding your wish list, newlywed or honeymoon fund, etc.

7. Adults-Only Announcements
Some couples would prefer to host an adults-only wedding but avoid direct mentions on your official invites. Your wedding website is the perfect place to make this announcement.
